【Michinoku Hydrangea Garden】
As you enter, the mountainside is covered with hydrangeas. True to its claim of being the “No.1 Hydrangea Garden in Japan”, it offers an impressive expanse and breathtaking views.
Of particular note is the “Hydrangea Field” located furthest in the garden – a view not to be missed. I’ve never seen so many hydrangeas in one place. There are well-maintained walkways through the cedar forest, allowing you to stroll and take in the hydrangeas. It’s best to wear comfortable shoes for the walk. The garden can be reached by bus from JR Ichinoseki Station.
When I visited in mid-July, the pond was filled with colorful hydrangeas floating on the surface, making it a popular spot for photo enthusiasts.
