August is the season for sunflowers.

August is the season for sunflowers.

Sunflowers belong to the Asteraceae family and the Helianthus genus, and they are annual plants.

Their origin is North America. The general symbolism of sunflowers includes meanings like ‘gazing only at you’, ‘ardent love’, ‘adoration’, ‘passion’, ‘I will make you happy’, and ‘you are wonderful’.

Because they bloom facing the sun, sunflowers have earned the symbolism of ‘gazing only at you’.

They are easy to grow, and seeing many sunflowers bloom all at once naturally brings a smile to one’s face.

For reference, the temperatures in Japan on this day were:

In Sapporo, the high was 31.8°C.

In Tokyo, it was 29.8°C.

Osaka reached 34.4°C.

And in Fukuoka, it was 33.4°C.
